The country has experienced a merchandise trade surplus over the years.

The main Exportable items of the country are petroleum and petroleum products, cocoa and rubber. The Exports partners of the country are United States , Spain , India , France and Italy.
The main Importable items of the country are machinery, chemicals, transport equipment, manufactured goods, food and live animals. The Imports partners of the country are United Kingdom, United States, Germany, France and Netherlands. The following diagram shows the Exports and Imports levels of Nigeria.

CONCLUSION
In todays world the country possesses many positive attributes for targeted investment. The country is expanding both as a regional and international market player. There is a growing Nigerian consensus that foreign investment is essential for the economic development.
